On tonight's Thursday Night Feature on WXYC, Tim Carless celebrates the often misunderstood Dexy's Midnight Runners. The band, led by the enigmatic, at times seemingly idiotic, but always brilliant Kevin Rowland, is one of the lost treasures of post-Beatles English musical landscape. In anticipation of their first release since 1985, Tim will be playing the three studio albums that they cut between 1980 and '85, in addition to some live recordings. Tune in nine PM to midnight at 89.3 FM.
You can still catch tonight's Thursday Night Feature on WXYC, A Mingus Among Us, and hear jazz bassists from Oscar Pettiford to Jimmy Blanton, Ron Carter, Charlie Haden, Ray Brown and yes, Charles Mingus. On air until midnight!
Harrison Lee hosts tonight's feature on geniuses who died too young. Featured artists include Arthur Russell and Trish Keenan of Broadcast. Have a listen -- on air now until midnight at WXYC 89.3. Visit Thursday Night Feature on WXYC for more information on this and other shows.
