Tonight's Thursday Night Feature on WXYC profiles influential guitarist Duane Allman. While many are familiar with the Allman Brothers Band, formed by Duane and brother Gregg, Duane was also a prolific studio musician who worked with Aretha Franklin, Wilson Pickett, Clarence Carter, Boz Scaggs, Arthur Conley, and others. His work with Eric Clapton is also legendary. Tonight's show will feature Duane as heard on tracks from his pre-Allman's days in the Allman Joys, Hourglass, and the 31st of February; cuts from his days as a session man; an archival interview with Duane; a recent interview with his friend and bass player Jerry Jemmott; and, of course, some classic, and rare, Allman Brothers Band tunes.
