This week on the Thursday Night Feature, Nanci O. brings you Women in Hip-Hop. It's the 5th anniversary of this TNF, which is this year a part of SOHIPOTOME 2010, celebrating emerging female hip-hop artists. 9 pm.

Check out the Inside Track on Friday and listen to Numero Group's compilation Good God! Born Again Funk! Hear gospel and blues really swing in this long-awaited release. 9 pm.

On Sunday's Backyard Barbecue, Grayson Currin and Greg Lowenhagen of the NC Triangle-based Independent Weekly talk about the Hopscotch Music Festival. The new event will bring hot local and regional acts to downtown Raleigh September 9-11. Exciting stuff! 8 pm.

Monday night on the Inside Track, hear The Art of the Theremin by Clara Rockmore in its entirety. Rockmore was an early theremin virtuoso, with a classical background in violin. Produced by Robert Moog, The Art of the Theremin is a collection of pieces by composers Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky, Ravel and others arranged for the theremin. Spooky. Lovely. Worth listening to. 9 pm.

On Friday, listen to Brazilian vinyl specialist Joel Stones' new anthology Brazilian Fuzz Guitar Bananas on the Inside Track. Stone's Throw says, "If Psych Funk 101 was the freshman seminar in global-psychedelic grooves, then this album should serve as a master class for those entranced by the funky, heavy psychedelic wonders of the Tropicalia movement and all that it spawned." 9pm.

Check out the Inside Track, Monday at 9pm, to hear the late Jack Rose's Luck in the Valley. The finger-picked guitar album explores traditional American, Middle Eastern, and South Asian styles.

Wednesday's Global Music Show will give you a taste of music and cultural knowledge new to your Western ears. 9pm.

This Thursday, Joel W. explores a broad range of music in a special Black History Month edition of the Thursday Night Feature. He'll feature the Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians (AACM) and one of the its best known groups, the Art Ensemble of Chicago. A rainbow of genres will be represented. 9 pm.

Tune in this Wednesday night at 9 pm to hear... drum roll ... The winning entries in the Locally Produced Digital Music Showcase! David V. hosts the one-hour special, a fine conclusion to the contest curated by WXYC, in partnership with the CHAT festival for Digital Arts and Humanities. Good luck!

Then, Friday, on the Inside Track, hear Real Life Is No Cool, a collaborative effort from Christabelle Sandoo and producer Hans-Peter Lindstrom, in its entirety. The luscious, dancehall-ready pop-funk album starts spinning at 9 pm.

The Backyard Barbecue welcomes Colby Ramsay of UNC Vinyl Records' My Boy Rascal for an interview and a solo set. Sunday at 8 pm.
